Sheer Dumb Luck and Brown Mascara

Timing is everything

Don't make me hunt you down - I'm tired. @OPCGal or @SDLABM on Twitter

This is one of the places where I work. Here's another: Firestorm, and we are experts at what we do.

This is my personal Blog. All work is original, and where I have quoted work by someone else, they are credited. Please do the same in return. Here is an example:

"You oughta' wean her.
She's old enough."
Philip Marlowe, The Big Sleep
Raymond Chandler, 1951

I don't think I've stolen a thing, but on the off-chance I dream something, wake up, think I'm a genius, write it down, and you know let's say, Tennessee Williams said it first, please let me know.

I will do the same in return.

Thank you.

That said, here is something I wrote ages ago that keeps popping up on the web. I never intended for people trying to quit smoking to be the audience, but hey, go figure (they keep changing the cuss words though, that drives me crazy.)

Someone named "Squirt" won Post of the Day for it on a forum in 2004. He just left my name off, and bammo, post of the day.

I also found it on a Filthy Jokes site out of UK. Again, no credit, and I'm sort of proud of that one, so hey, Filthy -Jokes, call me.

Here they gave me credit, but they put little stars for the "bad" words, but thank you QuitNet.

And here's another, but it's very old and you have to scroll, but Bill is a sweet guy. Thanks Bill.

Or, you can just read the "Official" one here:

Diary of a Smoker Quitting the official version from 1998

...I don't know, people seem to like it.

If I wrote a Philip Marlowe type book:

"I’ve never done anything I’d consider scandalous in my life; of course I have a rather relaxed definition."

"He was cheap, but not too cheap. He was a pair of Ferragamos on sale."

"I'll take a bullet for ya darlin', but not every time."

She was a woman who meant business. For her, foreplay was a casual "don't forget the ashtray" tossed carelessly over her shoulder.

"I don't know why you're surprised. A bad girl gets a little dirty sometimes."

"What do I call "Home? The place where you don't have to wear clothes under your clothes. I like to have options."

"It's a little scary here, isn't it?"

People I Miss in the World

"People have to talk about something just to keep their voice boxes in working order so they'll have good voice boxes in case there's ever anything really meaningful to say."
Kurt Vonnegut

"For a moment, nothing happened. Then, after a second or so, nothing continued to happen."
Douglas Adams

"Listen, the next revolution is gonna be a revolution of
ideas."
Bill Hicks

"All things must pass. All things must pass away."
George Harrison

"Everybody loves you when you're six foot in the
ground."
John Lennon

"I am beginning to fly"
